ALL

ALL is what happened when Milo Aukerman quit the Descendents and got replaced by Dave Smalley, previously of Dag Nasty and later of Down By Law.

Allroy Sez

(1988)
  1. Pretty Little Girl
  2. Hooidge
  3. Sex in the Way
  4. Alfredo's
  5. Sugar and Spice
  6. ALLthymn
  7. Just Perfect
  8. Paper Tiger
  9. Auto Wreck
  10. #10 (Wet)
  11. Muse
  12. Don Quixote

Decent stuff. I could do without tracks 9 and 11, but that's probably just me.

Allroy For Prez

(1988)

[album cover]

  1. Just Perfect
  2. Skin Deep
  3. Wrong Again
  4. I Hate to Love
  5. Wishing Well
  6. Son-O-Qua
  7. Postage
  8. Daveage

More decent stuff. "Postage" is great. "Just Perfect" is the same mix as on Allroy Sez.

Allroy's Revenge

(1989)

[album cover]

  1. Gnutheme
  2. Fool
  3. Check One
  4. Scary Sad
  5. Man-O-Steel
  6. Box
  7. Copping Z's
  8. Hot Rod Lincoln
  9. She's My Ex
  10. Bubblegum
  11. Mary
  12. Net
  13. No Traffic
  14. Carnage

Probably my favourite ALL album, despite that I don't like tracks 3, 7, 12, or 14 at all. The rest are great.

Dave Smalley is gone; Scott Reynolds is the new vocalist.

"Hot Rod Lincoln" is a cover of the classic country song, and it wasn't included on the original vinyl.

Tony Lombardo, the Descendents' original bassist, wrote "Gnutheme" and "Man-O-Steel".

Trailblazer

(1989)
  1. Carnage
  2. Fool
  3. Box
  4. Skin Deep
  5. Just Perfect
  6. Postage
  7. Copping Z [sic]
  8. She's My Ex
  9. Man-O-Steel
  10. Paper Tiger
  11. Sex in the Way
  12. Check One
  13. Hate to Love
  14. Gnutheme

Live album, named after a travel commode.

Allroy Saves

(1990)
  1. Educated Idiot
  2. Just Like Them
  3. Prison
  4. Just Living
  5. Freaky
  6. Frog
  7. Simple Things
  8. Cyclops
  9. Ratchet
  10. Sum
  11. Crawdad
  12. Explorador

The last "Allroy" album for a while. Several "downer" songs, a little more than usual. Milo wrote "Just Like Them".

Percolater

(1992)
  1. Charligran
  2. Nothin'
  3. Dot
  4. Nobody's
  5. Wonder
  6. Minute
  7. Birds
  8. Empty
  9. Mo. 63
  10. Egg Timer
  11. Gnugear (Hot)
  12. Hotplate
  13. Hey Bug
  14. Breathe

"ALL... or none? Let's take a closer look."

This is my least-favourite of the ALL albums I own. 1, 3, 6, and 11-14 are pretty cool, but the rest are dull.

Scott's last album with ALL. The next album, Breaking Things, was the first with current vocalist Chad "Chud" Price.

Who wrote the music for "Hotplate", ZZ Top?

"And that's our show!"
