Marginally Cool Stuff
Welcome to my little hacks-and-fun collection, where you can download
some of the cool stuff I've made. Sorry, no warez.
- ZFS-Only FreeBSD Installation
- A not-so-quick guide to
setting up FreeBSD without the use of UFS. Hey, it's still simpler than
installing Gentoo Linux!
- Various Patches for Various Programs
- NNTPCache
3.0.2 src/nntpcache.c
- Solaris_procutils-1.2.2.tar.gz,

- Two programs for SunOS 5.x that make use of
the /proc filesystem. killcmd is based on the concept of the
killall utility available for Linux, FreeBSD, and possibly other
operating systems. Its purpose is to kill/signal a process or processes by
process name rather than numeric process ID. pidof is based on
the concept of the pidof utility available for Linux. Its
purpose is to print the numeric IDs of a process or processes given by name
on the command line. Both programs include all functionality of their Linux
equivalents plus added features; however, all source code is original,
written by me. Yes, Solaris now has pgrep and
pkill, but this is way cooler. Well, unless you need to use
regular expressions, I guess.
